If you're looking for a relaxed yet profitable way to farm in Old School RuneScape, Zora is still one of the best bosses to tackle in 2026. One player recently tested a ranged-only method using the iconic Twisted Bow, and the results are impressive with cheapest OSRS gold.Let's break down the strategy, gear, and loot potential.

Gear Setup for the Ranged Method

The approach focuses solely on ranged attacks, which makes the fight less stressful since no gear switching is required. Here's the setup:

Twisted Bow – The centerpiece of the method; powerful and consistent across Zora's phases.

Tanzanite Helm – Helps avoid using antivenom potions.

Necklace of Anguish & Ava's Assembler – Essential ranged bonuses.

Dragon Arrows – Amethyst arrows are preferable for saving GP.

Carell's Leather Top, Ancient Chaps, Armadyl Dehide Boots, Barrows Gloves – Solid ranged armor.

Ring of Suffering – For snakeling protection.

The inventory includes prayer potions, ranging potions, food (like carvants for double-eating), and a Toxic Blowpipe for special attacks and healing when needed.

Combat Strategy

The strategy is simple: drink a ranging potion, pull Zora into the fight, and use the Twisted Bow throughout. Some highlights from the fight:

Range Phase: Hits are consistent but not massive; thraws (summons) can help maintain DPS.

Magic Phase: This is where the Twisted Bow really shines, often landing high hits and speeding up the kill.

Melee Phase: Ranged damage is lower here, but thraws keep damage steady, and occasional big hits make a difference.

This method is not the fastest in the world, but it's very relaxed. Players don't burn through food, and survival is easier, especially with a Tanzanite Helm and careful use of the Blowpipe.

Profit and Drops

After an hour of testing, the results were solid:

Total Kills: 26 Zora kills in one hour.

Zra Scales Collected: 5,600.

Total Profit: 2.65 million GP (excluding uniques like the Toxic Blowpipe, which can add massive value when it drops).

Arrows Used: Only 132 dragon arrows, highlighting the efficiency of the Twisted Bow.

Even without high-end gear, Zora remains profitable. For Iron Man accounts, the drops include useful resources such as herbs, high-level seeds, coconuts, grapes, and pure essence, making it a versatile boss for both gold and resources.

Why the Twisted Bow Makes This Method Chill

While other methods might push for 30+ kills per hour using range-magic switching, the Twisted Bow offers a more relaxed approach. Players can enjoy consistent DPS without constantly swapping gear or worrying about supplies. Plus, the occasional lucky hit can set personal bests (one kill clocked at just 1 minute 3 seconds!).

Is Zora Worth It in 2026?

Absolutely. Zora continues to be a viable money-making method for OSRS gold players. You don't need extremely high-end gear to profit, though the Twisted Bow certainly makes the experience smoother and more consistent. Whether you're hunting for gold, Zra scales, or valuable resources, this boss still delivers.

For those who prefer a relaxed, single-gear approach, the Twisted Bow ranged-only method is a top choice. Efficient, low-maintenance, and profitable—it's the perfect way to spend an hour in Gielinor.
