The fall update is expected to pack in three maps alongside the holiday content, which should make the game feel much fuller. That kind of content drop usually brings back lapsed players too, so the lobbies won't be packed only with aim demons and vehicle mains. It's also enough time for balance patches to settle. Audio, time-to-kill, hit registration, and cover changes all need more work, especially on maps like New Sobek and Blackwell.

The features that could make it stick

The biggest changes might not be tied to any single season. Proximity chat, Platoons, leaderboards, spectator tools, and a proper server browser could do more for Battlefield 6 than another weapon or skin ever will. Persistent servers are where communities form. You remember the regulars. You learn which squad plays the objective and which clan always stacks the same side. That's the glue Battlefield has been missing.
