Look further down the slope. Your instinct is to stare at the tree directly in front of you. Don't. Your eyes should be living three or four obstacles ahead, so your hands already know what to do by the time the danger arrives. Target fixation is real, and it kills.

Practice jump timing in the calm stretches. Gaps and ramps show up with almost no warning, and if you've never internalized how long the jump actually lasts, you'll launch too late every single time. Burn a few easy runs just hopping randomly. Sounds dumb. Works.

Stay near the center when you can. The edges are where the tight clusters live. Center gives you options in both directions, and options are survival.
