Drifting looks cool, but in serious Touge Battles, grip wins. Stick to the racing line and focus on smooth exits from hairpins. Clean cornering keeps your speed up and avoids time-wasting slides.

2. Master the Braking Zone
Touge roads are tight and technical. Upgrading brakes and tires before adding engine power is crucial. Learn each corner’s braking point and slow just enough to maintain control—too early and you lose speed; too late and you risk crashing.

3. Use the Mini-Map
Look ahead two corners using your mini-map. This helps you position your car early and avoid last-second steering adjustments, giving you smoother turns and better momentum on fast sections.

4. Avoid Risky Curb Tricks
Curbs and “gutter runs” are flashy, but in Forza’s physics, they often backfire. Bouncing off curbs can cost you control or even spin you into a barrier. Stick to clean lines for consistent lap times.

Car Selection
Pick a compact or mid-size car with a short wheelbase for maximum agility. Classic Japanese tuners from the 1990s—like the Nissan Silvia or Toyota AE86—often excel in mountain passes.

Class & Tuning

• Most competitive Touge Battles are A Class (A800).
• Suspension: Set springs to mid-range values to handle elevation changes. Keep a balanced front-to-rear ratio to prevent wobbling in tight corners.

Brakes & Tires
Upgrade brakes and grip-focused tires first. You can add more engine power later, but control always comes first in Touge.

Match Structure
Battles are usually rounds (best 2 out of 3), where drivers alternate roles: leader and chaser.

Winning as Chaser
Your goal is to stay within a specific “gap” of the leader. Focus on minimizing mistakes and taking clean lines through hairpins.

Create distance while maintaining a smooth racing line. A strong, consistent pace can prevent the chaser from overtaking.

For fair play, try Touge Showdown mode. Here, all players use identical cars with no custom mods, so victory depends purely on skill.

Know the Routes

Forza Horizon 6 includes five preset mountain passes inspired by real Japanese roads, including Mount Haruna (Akina) and the Hakone Nanamagari. You can start battles instantly in free roam by challenging other players or finding specific NPC rivals at the route starts.
