U4N: How to Farm Skill Points While Drifting

If you want to unlock the best car masteries, grab rare vehicles, or load up on cash in the Horizon festival, you need Skill Points—and lots of them. While you can earn points doing almost anything, sliding your way through the map is hands-down the most reliable way to stack them up fast.

Earning Skill Points while drifting isn’t just about sliding sideways randomly; it is a math game centered around efficiency, multipliers, and maximizing your time. Here is exactly how to optimize your drift builds, where to go, and the specific numbers you need to hit to farm points like a pro.

The Core Math: The 500,000 Rule

Before throwing your car into a corner, you need to understand the hard cap of the game's reward system.

  • Each individual Skill Point costs 50,000 skill score points.

  • The game caps the rewards at 10 Skill Points per single skill chain.

This means the absolute sweet spot for any drift run is 500,000 total points (your base score multiplied by your multiplier). If you keep drifting and push your chain to 1,000,000 points, you are still only getting 10 Skill Points. You are effectively throwing away half your effort.

To maximize efficiency, you want to stop, bank your points the second you clear 500,000, and start a fresh chain.

[Base Score] x [Multiplier] = Target: 500,000 (10 Skill Points)

Step 1: Pick and Prep the Right Car

Don't just grab a random supercar from your garage. You want a vehicle that builds multipliers quickly and pushes past the standard $x5$ cap.

  1. The Multiplier is King: Look for Formula Drift cars or specific Forza Edition (FE) vehicles. Standard cars max out at a $x5$ multiplier, but premium drift builds feature Car Mastery trees that allow you to unlock a $x7$ or even $x8$ multiplier.

  2. Max Out the Car Mastery Tree: Before your farming run, spend a few initial points on the car’s skill tree. Prioritize perks that boost drift scores by 10-20%, speed up how quickly the multiplier builds, and—most importantly—the "Extra Life" perk, which allows your chain to survive one accidental collision with a wall or guardrail.

Step 2: Location is Everything

To keep a drift chain alive without losing your momentum, you need wide spaces, long corners, and minimal traffic interference.

The Mountain Touge Passes

The tight, winding mountain sections inspired by real alpine roads are perfect for pure drift chains. Because the corners are packed back-to-back, your base score climbs rapidly. With a proper $x7$ multiplier car, you only need a base score of roughly 71,500 points before you can stop and bank.

The Open Dragstrips and Airports

If you struggle with maintaining tight angles on narrow roads, head to the wide-open asphalt of the festival dragstrips or airports. Here, you can pull massive, sweeping "360 drifts" and slide side-to-side across the tarmac. The bonus here is that these areas often feature destructible barriers or light cones. Smashing these triggers "Wreckage" and "Sideswipe" skills, adding an extra 1,000 to 2,000 base points to your drift score every few seconds.

Step 3: The "Animation Skip" Pro Trick

When you stop drifting to bank a massive chain, the game usually forces you to wait 20 to 30 seconds while the UI counts up your points and flashes your rewards on the screen. If you are doing this dozens of times an hour, that animation lag burns a massive amount of farming time.

To bypass this, look for a nearby race event trigger (the glowing locations on the map where you start races) right next to your drift zone. The moment your score hits the 500,000 mark:

  1. Drive straight into the event prompt.

  2. Open the event menu, and then instantly back out to the freeroam map.

This forcefully resets the UI, instantly banking your 10 Skill Points into your inventory without making you wait for the collection animation. You can immediately kick the rear end out and start the next chain. Using this method, experienced drivers can easily farm anywhere from 600 to 1,000 Skill Points per hour.

Balancing the Grind

While drifting up and down the mountain passes is an incredibly effective way to build up your garage organically, the repetitive loop can turn a fun racing game into a second job. If you find yourself spending more time grinding basic points than actually enjoying high-speed online lobbies or technical races, look into external shortcuts. Experienced players often use dedicated marketplaces like U4N to skip the repetition entirely; on their platform, you can buy FH6 super wheelspins to instantly secure massive chunks of credits and rare cars, letting you get straight back to competitive racing.

No matter which route you take, keeping a close eye on the 500,000-point limit and utilizing the event-menu reset trick will cut your farming time in half, ensuring you get the absolute most out of every single slide.
